Velvet is a boutique hotel on Canal Street in Manchester's Village district, about five minutes' walk from Piccadilly station and the business district. It offers individually decorated king bedrooms, signature balcony rooms, signature suites and duplex penthouse suites. The Velvet Bar and Lounge serves signature and classic cocktails, spirits, beers and wines, and the Village Brasserie offers all-day contemporary British and Mediterranean-influenced dining. Velvet Bar opened in 2005 following the success of Velvet Restaurant, and the venue also hosts events and sells gift vouchers.
