The University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) is a distinguished Pan-African institution dedicated to academic excellence, innovation, and community impact. Founded in 1996 as the Academy of Medical Sciences and Technology, the university has grown from a small cohort of students into a leading higher education provider with 13 faculties and a diverse range of programmes spanning medicine, dentistry, medical laboratory science, engineering, business, law, computer science, and mass communication. Guided by a commitment to developing competent and socially responsible professionals, UMST fosters a culture of research, lifelong learning, and service to society. Operating from its modern Kigali campus in Rwanda, UMST expanded its international presence through the visionary GO AFRICA initiative, providing quality education opportunities to students from across the continent. Accredited by Rwanda’s Higher Education Council, the university combines strong academic standards with practical training and global perspectives.
