About The Retreat

The Retreat is a charitable, not-for-profit provider of specialist mental health care. We work closely with the NHS to provide services for people with complex and challenging needs in an open, calming environment designed to enable recovery and independence. The Retreat was established over 200 years ago and was the first place where people with mental health problems were treated humanely and with dignity and respect.
