Shag Noir Salon is a Black-owned hair salon in East Austin's Mexican Cultural Arts District. It works by reservation only, and new clients receive a complimentary consultation with their stylist before the first appointment. Services include balayage and highlights, bespoke cutting and wash-and-go treatments. The salon uses non-toxic and low-toxicity products, including the Alfaparf colour line, and takes part in the Green Circle Salons programme. Its stylists are paid hourly and the salon does not accept tips.
