In 2011, Takshashila and Himanshu Desai returned to Ahmedabad after 12 years in Nigeria, Singapore and the US. Ahmedabad had changed a lot for the better in all those years yet there was something that was still the same which was the availability of a decent omelet or sandwich at a reasonable price and good standard of hygiene. They had initially envisioned Sandwichworkz to be a cafè only making sandwiches and omelets but as they started operations they realized there were quite a few food items that most places in Ahmedabad did not do justice to.
