Opening in 1797, this is the oldest book shop in Britain and once stocked the country house libraries of Britain’s aristocrats. Byron, Wellington, Disraeli and Wilde were all regular customers. For more than 200 years our customers have entrusted Hatchards with the task of discovering and championing the best literature that is on offer. Over this time we have built up a wealth of experience.
