Leon de la Garza, a one-time General Contractor, and owner of LCC Stones (a.k.a. Leon’s Custom Creations), located at 3625 Wow Rd., (and 1118 Gibson Lane) Corpus Christi, TX, was hired to renovate a kitchen in my one-bedroom condo in Corpus Christi, TX, in January of 2019. To start the condo renovation, I hired Leon to install five interior doors in the condo. Since he needed payment for the five doors, upfront, in January of 2019, I wrote him a check for $1500 so that he could immediately purchase the doors. Once the doors were installed, Leon would then begin fabrication on the granite kitchen counter.
Six months later, after multiple calls, text messages, and emails to Leon, he still had not purchased and/or installed my five doors. Nor did he ever return to the job site.
As of this writing, six months later, I repeatedly asked Leon for a full refund via phone calls and text messages, which he did not respond to. I even went to his business, in person, and Leon told me that “we had a contract” and that he had a “no refund” policy. I never received a contract from him; and he couldn’t produce one that he claimed I signed.
Despite having been referred to him by our realtor, Kellyn Eddins, Leon de la Garza of LCC (Leon’s Custom Creations) Stones is a thief and takes advantage of unsuspecting people. When I enlisted Kellyn to help me gain a refund from Leon for a job that he never even started, she just discovered that an elderly couple who she had ALSO referred to Leon de la Garza of LCC Stones/Leon’s Custom Creations, had ALSO been duped by him. For fear of retaliation by Leon, the couple chose to suffer in silence at the huge loss of their retirement funds and not press charges.
Another victim of LCC Stones’s Leon de la Garza is Marc Cantu, a retired military VET. Mr. Cantu paid Leon $6,000 for a backyard patio. All he received from Leon was about $600 to $700 worth of work: three 6x6 unfinished posts cemented in the ground! On July 12, 2019, Mr. Cantu went to court against Leon de la Garza and Leon’s Custom Creations (now known as LCC [Leon’s Custom Creations] Stones). Leon didn’t even show up for his court case. Still, the judge awarded Mr. Cantu $5,200 plus court costs. The judge also noted that Leon had two other small claims cases against him, at that time – both of which he also did not bother to show up for. Even engineers who were hired by Leon for work that they did do for him, “benefiting” Leon’s customers, the judge noted that Leon never paid them the $3,000 he still owes for their work. Although Mr. Cantu was awarded $5,200 plus court costs, Leon de la Garza never paid him a cent.
In my continued fraud research on Leon de la Garza, I received a call from a pastor who had hired Leon for some contract work, even paying him in full. That job was not completed, and the ministry suffered a huge financial loss. (To see what court cases Leon has pending, or previous cases against him, look up his name on the Nueces County Case Search database at the Nueces County Courthouse.)
To bury his business financial problems and start “anew,” Leon de la Garza changed his company name from Leon’s Custom Creations to LCC Stones, claiming he was a general contractor but now deals primarily with granite. Unbeknownst to me, and even Mr. Cantu, was that at the time we both suffered a financial loss at the hands of Leon de la Garza, in 2019, Leon was NOT operating with a contractor’s license.
In 2019 Leon de la Garza was “listed” as Leon’s Custom Creations at the Better Business Bureau; his rating was a D+. Today, Leon is registered at the Better Business Bureau as LCC Stones; his “clean slate start” rating is an A+. Yet again, the BBB is a vehicle that allows businesses to sweep their past under the rug and start afresh – never mind Leon’s lost lawsuits where he didn’t pay his court-awarded awarded victims.
If you have any LCC Stones/Leon’s Custom Creations/Leon de la Garza financial downfall experiences you want to share, email me at Astan33@gmail.com. I am a professional writer by trade and will submit your stories to national news syndicates. Your losses can help other military vets, church pastors, and last, but not least, the elderly from financial abuse and ruin at the hands of Leon de la Garza. Maybe then the District Attorney will step in and STOP Leon de la Garza from financially abusing an unsuspecting public. After all, what good is the courts when even a judge can’t make Leon pay for his thievery?
