About Flower Drum

Flower Drum is a fine dining Cantonese restaurant on Market Lane in Melbourne's Chinatown. It was opened in 1975 by Gilbert Lau on Little Bourke Street and moved to its current Market Lane premises about a decade later to gain a larger dining room. In 2003 the restaurant was sold to three of its employees, including long-serving Executive Chef Anthony Lui. Its awards include Restaurant of the Year titles from the Age Good Food Guide and Gourmet Traveller, and the restaurant pairs its Cantonese menu with fine wine and attentive service.
