Since the Club was first formed in 1928, it has seen many changes in direction, from starting as the Barry Yacht and Motor Boat Club, offering racing for sailing and motor boats, to the heady days of dinghy racing in the 60’s and 70’s when extensive fleets of Albacores, National 18’s and Mirrors could be seen on the start line off Jackson’s Bay.In later years the Club has focused more on cruising, with many members embarking on long distance voyages, whilst others continued to enjoy evening and weekend club racing.
